The Warm Machine
October 2008. A cold night in a city nobody has ever managed to name. A small tabby did what every cat does and found the warmest surface in the room — the lid of a laptop someone had left running.
They slept there for nine hours. When they finally rose and stretched, nine pages had been written underneath them: a design for money that no king could mint and no bank could stop. The human whose laptop it was took the credit, signed it Satoshi, and never once mentioned the cat.
